A few weeks ago, we sent out a Smart Grid white paper to the public, key industry stakeholders…and even Barack Obama! (via Twitter)
Since then, a few more edits have been made based on phenomenal comments and suggestions from our peers. Therefore, the white paper is now 100% complete and finalized. If you haven’t already, we strongly encourage you to read this revolutionary document, as it is the first of its kind to introduce next generation network and Operation Support System approaches to Smart Grid network solutions.
Tim Brown, WireIE’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) wrote this white paper, entitled, “Practical Considerations for Smart Grid”.
It is our hope this white paper reaches as many readers as possible – please pass it on to anyone you know who may be interested. Any comments or feedback you may have are welcomed and encouraged here on the Whiteboard.
Abstract:
Smart Grid will facilitate conservation across the entire electrical energy supply chain. Up to this point, however, little has been written as to how this will actually be achieved. The intent of this paper is to discuss where the opportunities for conservation in the supply chain are. From there a practical Smart Grid architecture based on proven telecom network Operation Support Systems is discussed. The benefits of using IP (Internet Protocol) as a single standard to support the Smart Grid network are then expounded upon.
